The hatch in the back allows for easy gear and snack access during a pit stop on the road

With a single downward pull, the umbrella shelter deploys, and side panels can be zipped on for extra privacy

Additional features include a power console at the front and cinch straps on the sides for external storage

Prototyping the umbrella mechanism using 3D printed parts and the trailer using PVC pipes and foam with a welded metal base

As e-bike use expands into outdoor recreation, campers need a trailer that not only transports gear, but also serves as a hub for setting up, hanging out, and cooking meals. With the pop-out umbrella shelter and propped lid, Basecamp mimics the convenience of a car's trunk—complete with a power console and table to make camping feel like home.
